Tammie Polk

Tammie T. Polk, a married homeschooling mother of three daughters, made the decision to homeschool her children in 2000 after hearing a presentation on the state of her local school system. Her first day as a homeschool mom was in August 2008 after her oldest daughter was waitlisted for voluntary Pre-K for scoring too high on the screening test. In 2014, while working as a substitute teacher, Tammie started a business as a homeschool consultant to families in the Memphis area, helping parents to understand their educational options.

In 2015, Tammie became a published author and has since penned over 200 books. In 2019, she opened her own brick and mortar bookstore featuring her own titles after years of rejection from mainstream, independent, and church bookstores. Her oldest daughter, Yasmine, graduated in 2021, published her coloring book in 2022, and is now an up and coming graphic designer and owner of Astra’s Galaxy and has her own YouTube channel. Her youngest daughter, Caitlyn, published her first book in 2024 and has her own YouTube channel as well.

Tammie has always said that her goal and joy is to help people around her to see what is possible. When she’s not taking the world by storm, she enjoys watching HGTV, police crime dramas, and wrestling, as well as various forms of gaming.
